This is the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist and a sheltered young cellist who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York’s Washington Square. They’re soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant they believe is dead. The infant is August Rush an unusually gifted musically child. He is orphaned by circumstance and is now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger who has big plans for the young prodigy. August believes that if his birth parents can hear his music they will find him.
