SOMETHING SPECIAL BIG BAND
“SWINGING IN THE NEW MILLENIUM”

The SOMETHING SPECIAL BIG BAND’s Director, Phil Costa, promises that this performance will include something for every big band aficionado. The band plays a variety of big band music from nostalgia to contemporary swing. With its Basie style, SOMETHING SPECIAL is considered to be one of the finest swing/jazz bands in the metropolitan area. The band has been featured at many of the major music and jazz festivals throughout the New York area. The talented band consists of five saxes, four trombones, four trumpets and a full rhythm section including vocalist Kim Lawrence. All members are professional musicians and former Basie vocalist Eddie Harris, sings the blues.

Admission is free and Bethpage School District #21 residents will be seated first; out-of-area residents as space permits. A Bethpage Library card is a ticket of admission for cardholder and a companion.
