The last thing the two Savage siblings Wendy (Linney) and Jon (Hoffman) ever wanted to do was look back at their difficult family history. Wendy is a struggling East Village playwright and Jon is a neurotic college professor in Buffalo. When the call comes that their estranged father Lenny (Bosco) is failing they must put their lives on hold and live together under the same roof for the first time since childhood and rediscover the eccentricities that drove each other crazy. They are confronted with what adulthood, family and each other are really about.
