How many did you say?

dvd.jpg

How many DVDS can I take out at one time?

This may be our most popular question! Library card holders are allowed to take out 6 DVDS. DVDS can be checked out for three days.

Where are your nonfiction DVDS?

Our nonfiction DVD collection is located to the left of the public use computers, right near the copy machine. If you need help finding a specific title please ask one of the librarians for assistance.

Our Foreign Films are located near the magazines in the back of the library.

If I am late returning a movie, what are the fines charged?

Fines for late DVDS are $1.00 per day. Remember if the library is closed, DVDS can be dropped in the book drop box located in front of the library building.

How can I find a list of new DVDS?

To make it easier for the public to locate new movies, white stickers that say "NEW" are on the DVDS. A list of new movies will appear on the front of the DVD display case.

Can I request that a movie be held for me?

No, you can only request a DVD from another library if it is a title that we do not own.

What if I am looking for something specific?

Check www.alisweb.org or ask a librarian!

Changes to Playaways

playaway.jpg

New Playaways now include an equalizer button that has several options to make the audio clearer. The options include loud, clear and low. There is also an updated speed button that allows the speed of the narration to be controlled by the listener. The new Playaways no longer feature the "Bookmark" option but it is easy to still hold one's place in the book. Just turn it off! The Playaway will always resume playing at the same point in the book at which it was shut off.

Want to know more about Playaways? Ask one of the friendly librarians at the Gold Coast Public Library.

You write in a Valentines Day card. You write the worst possible things about them and then write you want to see other people, then write I never want to see or talk or hear you again! Then you ask them out to a really romantic restaurant and order really nice food. Slide the Valentine's Day card across the table. (The outside of the card is really fancy with hearts all over it) Then leave after the person reads it. By Kira
