Summer Teen Programs
Registration for the Syosset Public Library's summer Teen programs begins on June 11. So, come in and register for the following exciting programs:
THE MYSTERY OF FINGERPRINTS with Detective John Whimple, NYPD Retired. See how detectives solve crimes by developing fingerprints from paper using a fingerprint magnabrush. Monday, July 2. 7-8:30 PM. Free. Refreshments will be served.
CALLIGRAPHY with Joanne Insinga. Learn the basics of Italics Calligraphy. Monday, July 9. 7-8:30 PM. Material Fee: $4.25. Refreshments will be served.
HARRY POTTER TRIVIA CONTEST AND MOVIE (HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE) – enter our trivia contest and win a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Watch the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Thursday, July 12. 5:45–9 PM. Trivia contest begins at 5:45 and movie starts promptly at 6:15 PM. No registration required. Free. Refreshments will be served.
TEEN BOOK BUDDY VOLUNTEERS: read to children 3 ½ years old to 1st Grade. A fun program. Monday, July 16. 7–8 PM. Free. Refreshments will be served.
FASHION DESIGN WORKSHOP with Ivy Bell-Bazer. Do you want to be a fashion designer? Join us for a fashion workshop to produce a finished frontal and back view with a swatch of fabric. You will design your own creation! Framed and ready for your portfolio...Monday, July 30. 7-8:30 PM. Material Fee: $4.00. Refreshments will be served.
SUMMER READING WRAP UP PIZZA AND MYSTERY MOVIE PARTY. (What the movie will be is the mystery.) Friday, August 10. 6 PM. Free. (Ongoing registration limited to Summer Reading Club members who have read at least one book.)
