Favorite Authors Return with More

levithan-773368.jpg Drum roll, please... it's the book I've been waiting for... David Levithan's new book, Wide Awake! ""I can't believe there's going to be a gay Jewish president." As my mother said this, she looked at my father, who was still staring at the screen. They were shocked, barely comprehending. Me? I sat there and beamed."

Scott Westerfeld is back with the The Last Days, the sequel to Peeps: "I sometimes feel is right before something big happens - when I'm about to break a guitar string, or get caught sneaking in, or when my parents are this close to having a monster fight. So just before the TV fell, I looked up."
Devilish, by Maureen Johnson (author of 13 Little Blue Envelopes) is back: "It doesn't matter how old you are when you die, I'd been told. When you die, that's the right time for you. I'd also been told my life was a small price to pay. I was glad to pay it for Allison...There was only one question left in my mind... Had I played it right?"
The Loud Silence of Francine Green is here -- written by Karen Cushman, author of The Midwife's Apprentice: ""Why did you get kicked out of school?" "Oh, that. For writing 'There is no free speech here' on the gym floor. In paint. Red Paint.""
Meg Cabot is back with How to be Popular: "Popularity. We all want it. Why? Because being popular means being liked. Everyone wants to be liked. Sadly, however, not all of us are. What do popular people have in common that makes them all so popular? They all have: A friendly way about them. An eagerness to pitch in and help get the job done. An interest in everything that goes on at work or school. A look that's fresh and neat. These aren't traits popular people were born with. They've cultivated the characteristics that make them so popular... and you can, too, by following the tips in this book!"
David Almond's new book, Clay, looks like a great read. As does Summer of the War by Gloria Whelan, The Legend of Bass Reeves by Gary Paulsen, House of the Red Fish by Graham Salisbury, Among the Free by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and Ursula LeGuin's Voices.

Wow --what a crop! There are also some fantastic books by new authors -- come take a look!
