Beginners to Intermediate Chess Workshop (Grades 5-8)
Sunday, November 16, 2:00-3:00PM
Whether you have previous experience or just want to learn
the basics of chess, join an instructor from the Long Island
Chess Nuts for an hour of instruction and play. A non-refundable
materials fee of $1.00 is due at registration.
Registration begins on Wednesday, October 15.
The College Process

This workshop will cover everything you should know about
the college application and admission process and neednt
be
afraid to ask! Topics will include SUNY vs. CUNY, private
vs. state schools, safety on campus, financial aid information
and many other college-related topics. Registration begins
on Wednesday, October 29.
Online
Research & Study Skills
Thursday, December 4, 7:00-8:00PM
Learn about our online databases and how to use them.
Strategies for School Success, including study
skills for students in grades 6-9, will be discussed. Free
program.
Registration required, begins on Wednesday, November 19.
TAG
Youre It!
Sunday, December 7, 2:00-3:00PM
Help make the Library a cooler place for teens by joining
the Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Brainstorm ideas
and make new friends. TAG membership is open to all teens
in grades 6-12. Your hours of participation will be recorded
so you can use the time to help fulfill your schools
community service requirements. Free program. We must plan
for refreshments so please register in the Teen Zone or by
calling Jill Holleufer at 223-6228 x43.
Decorating
Your Denim Jeans
Wednesday, December 10, 7:00-8:30PM
Bring a pair of jeans or any denim wear and create a wearable
piece of art. Registration required, begins on Wednesday,
November 19.
Teen
Movie Nights
Teens can enjoy a movie with other teens in the Community
Room of the Baldwin Public Library. Movies shown on Teen Movie
Nights are specially selected for teen audiences. RSVP
