Library cardholders can now download audio books directly to their personal computers and MP3 players. Simply log on to the Bryant Library’s Web site from your home or office and download away. It’s another free service that comes with your library card!

Digitized Books: The Bryant Library  is excited to offer electronic books to our patrons. The Gale Virtual Reference Library is a user-friendly database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7! You'll need to Enter all 14 digits of your library card number to use this database (no spaces or dashes).

PAC (Public Access Computers) Using SAM:

As a free service to Bryant Library cardholders you can log on and surf the World Wide Web, create a resume, a Power Point presentation, do a spreadsheet, or word processing. If you already have an Internet-based email account, you may read and send E-mail. Visitors to the Bryant Library may come to the Reference Desk to get a Visitor's Pass. This pass expires at the end of the day.

To use SAM:

  • Patrons must enter their library card number without spaces. Your PIN number is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
  • If no computer is available, you can register for the next available computer at the sign-up computer.
  • Your session will last one hour; you will receive warnings to save your material or print as your time is running out. You will be automatically logged out at the one hour mark.
  • If no one is waiting for the next available computer you will be able to log back on.
  • If you are going to print, please go to the Reference Desk and add money to your account. There is a $1.00 minimum and a $10.00 maximum. Your balance will remain on your account indefinitely. There are both color and black and white network printers available. Color prints are $.25, and black and white prints are $.10.
  • All of your work must be saved to a floppy disc or flash drive since it will be lost after you are logged out. Floppies are available at the Reference for $1.00 each.
  • The last session of the day will end at 8:50 p.m. on weekdays, and 4:50 p.m. on weekends. If you need additional assistance, or if you have forgotten your PIN #, please see a librarian at the Reference Desk.
