Instructions for printing using Windows 95/98/ME

*** You must follow the instructions for connecting your computer to the Internet***
*** Your computer identification must = Public. Follow the directions below:

STEP 1: CHANGING THE WORKGROUP

• Right click on the Network Neighborhood.
• Click on Properties
• Click on the Identification Tab
• Change the text in the Workgroup box to Public. Click OK.
• At the System Properties screen click OK.

STEP 2: DOWNLOADING PRINTER DRIVERS

• To print your documents you must download the printer drivers from the Print Server.
• Click on the Network Neighborhood icon
• Click on Prntserver icon
• Click on hp1200-01

You will see a screen that says the following:

Before you can use the printer \\Prntserver\hp1200-01 it must be set up on your computer.

Message says: Do you want Windows to set up the printer and continue this operation? Click yes.

Message says: Do you print from MS-DOS based programs? No should be selected.
Click next.

Message says: You can type a name for this printer, or you can use the name supplied below. Click next.

Message says: Would you like to print a test page? Click yes. This is recommended for first time users.

Click Finish.

Message says: Did the test page print? Click yes.
Close the printer & Prntserver dialog box.

STEP 3: MAKE THE PRINTER THE DEFAULT PRINTER

Check to make sure that the HPLJ 1200 printer is selected as your default printer
Click on Start > Settings > Printers.

The HPLJ 1200 printer icon should have a black circle with a check mark.
If this is not the case, right click on the icon and click on Set as default.

You may close out and start to use your computer applications.

• Click on the Network Identification TAB
• Click on Properties
• Change the text in the Workgroup box to Public. Click OK.
• At the System Properties screen click OK.

STEP 2: DOWNLOADING PRINTER DRIVERS

• To print your documents you must download the printer drivers from the Print Server.
• Click on the Network Neighborhood icon.
• Click on the Prntserver icon
• Enter PAC3 for username and password
• Click on hp1200-01

You will see a screen that says the following:

• Right click on My Computer
• Click on Properties
• Click on the Network Identification TAB
• Click on Properties

Change the text in Workgroup box to Public. Click OK.

At the System Properties screen click OK.

• To print your documents you must download the printer drivers from the Print Server.
• Click on the Network Neighborhood icon.
• Click on view workgroup computers under Network Tasks on the left side of the screen.
• Click on the Prntserver icon
• Click on the hp1200-01 icon

You will see a screen that says the following:

Before you can use the printer \\Prntserver\hp1200-01 it must be set up on your computer.

STEP 3: MAKE THE PRINTER THE DEFAULT PRINTER

Check to make sure that the HPLJ 1200 printer is selected as your default printer.
