The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a policy change beginning July 1, 2008. All video rental fees are eliminated – forever! So come on in and get your DVDs and VHSs for the Independence Day weekend – all at no charge. Now, for the fine print: overdue fines still apply per item per day -- $2.00 for DVDs and $1.00 for VHSs.

The coming year promises to be filled with new and exciting ideas, programs and offerings.
At its April meeting the Board of Trustees adopted the 2008/09 Library budget. The Board proposed an increase of 3.34%, most of which reflects contractual obligations. This figure translates into about a $7 increase per household for a family residing in a home with an adjusted market value of $900,000.
Voting is at South Side High School on May 20th. The polls are open from 7 am to 9 pm.

We are pleased to announce that the proposed 2007/2008 Library budget has been approved by the voters. Congratulations to Trustee April Wexler who has been re-elected to a three year term and to Charles Kelleher who has been elected to the Board of Trustees in a write-in vote.

The RVC Library Board revised its 2007/08 budget figures to reflect a 1.2% decrease in the original budget, from 6.1% to 4.8%, by increasing the estimated revenue line. Contractual salary and health insurance obligations represent the major portion of this year’s tax proposal. A family residing in a home with an adjusted market value of $900,000 can expect a rate increase of about $20 for the year.
