WHO Can Be A Volunteer?
We are looking for 20 teenagers who will be entering 8th grade (or up) to volunteer for the “Read-to-Me” program for 2-4 hours per week between July 1st and July 31st, 2008.

WHEN Are The Volunteers Needed?
Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 12pm.

HOW Do You Sign Up?
Call or come into the Library to register. The first TWENTY applicants will be accepted. Additionally, ten alternates (to be called upon if needed) will be considered.

WHAT Are The Basic Responsibilities?
The major responsibility will be to promote a love of books by reading to young children as well as assisting them with arts and crafts.

1.Volunteers (and alternates) must be available for an orientation session to be held on Monday, June 16th at 4pm in the Library. Be prepared to sign up for specific days between July 1st & July 31st.

2.Volunteers must sign up for a minimum of two hours per session.

3.For each Read-to-Me session, volunteers must select a book to be read at a story session. Staff will help with the selection of age-appropriate books.

4.Volunteers will be invited to the Summer Reading Pool Party on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. If attending, volunteers should be aware that they may be asked to lend a hand with some of the tasks involved (e.g. tickets, refreshments).
