Free family passes to several museums in the greater New York area are available to Elmont Library cardholders in good standing.*
It is recommended that Museum passes be reserved in advance. However, based upon availability, a Museum pass may be checked out without reserving it. Museum passes must be reserved, checked out and handled by an adult (18 years or older). Museum passes may be reserved for the current or following month subject to availability.
If a reserved pass is not picked up by the Library’s closing time, the reservation will be cancelled.
Only one pass may be checked out to an Elmont Library cardholder (household) at any given time and must be returned prior to borrowing another. No pass may be borrowed twice in the same month by the same Elmont Library cardholder (household).
Passes may be borrowed for three (3) days and must be returned to the Library no later than one hour before closing on the due date.
Passes may not be returned in the book drop. There is a $10.00 per day late charge for passes not returned on time.
Any Elmont Library cardholder who loses a pass will be charged the replacement cost of that museum pass. In the event that non-return of a pass necessitates the Library’s paying an entrance fee for the next Elmont Library cardholder, that entry cost to the museum will be assessed to the record of the cardholder failing to return the pass on time.
*Good standing with regard to this policy means you do not have any outstanding fines on Library materials.
