What is the TAG?
T.A.G. is the Elmont Library’s Teen Advisory Group.
It’s a group of teen volunteers in grades 7-12 who work with the Young Adult Librarian to improve and enrich the teen library experience for all teens in the community.
What do we do?
- Talk about the library e.g. what you want in a library, what to do for the holiday programs or issues that relate to teens and libraries.
- Give suggestions on teen books, magazines, movies, video games and music.
- Give ideas for teen related programs and activities.
- Be willing to have fun and meet new people.
Where do we meet and how often?
We meet once a month (usually the first week of a month) in the Elmont Public Library. Meetings are normally 1 - 1 1/2 hours long.
What’s in it for me?
- Earn Community Service hours
- Looks good on your college resume
- Be first to read the new library books
- Meet new people
- Delicious snacks and drinks at every meeting
- Have your voice heard!
- It’s fun!
