Every registration for a pre-kindergarten age child requires the child's birth certificate or proof of age card and parent's valid East Meadow library card. Every registration for a child in Grades K-6 requires the child's valid East Meadow library card. Check the required birth dates for our programs. No phone registrations will be taken. Non-residents may inquire about availability one week prior to the program. Programs may be canceled due to inadequate registration. Thank you.
MOTHER GOOSE TIME - 9 to 18 months with caregiver (no siblings)
This half-hour program introduces children and parents or caregivers to nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays, movement, and of course, books! Parents are encouraged to join in the activities and to continue them at home. Limit 15 children.
Registration begins Monday, April 14. Birth date must be between 10/06 and 7/07.
Mondays 9:45 a.m. : April 28, May 5, 12 & 19.
PARENT/CHILD WORKSHOP - 18 to 30 months with a caregiver
Community resource people will be on hand to discuss parenting questions and concerns about child development. Activities include toys, arts/crafts, books and play. Registration begins Friday, March 21. Birth date must be between 10/05 and 10/06. Limited to 15 families.
Fridays 9:15 a.m. OR 10:45 a.m. : April 4, 11, 18, May 2 & 9.
TODDLER TIME - 2½ to 3½ years with a caregiver
An introductory listening experience for toddlers, with a program of simple stories, fingerplays, games and songs for both adult and child. This is one-on-one quality time with your toddler. Limit 15 children with caregivers. Registration begins Thursday, April 17. Birth date must be between 11/04 and 11/05.
Thursdays 10:00 a.m. : May 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29.
PRE-SCHOOL STORYTIME - 3½ years to Pre-K
Introduce your child to the wonderful world of children’s literature. Storytimes include books, songs, fingerplays, puppets and lots of fun. Registration begins Tuesday, March 18. Birth date must be on or before 9/04. Limited to 30 children.
Tuesdays 10:00 a.m. : April 1, 8, 29, May 6, 13 & 20.
Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. : April 2, 9, 30, May 7 & 14.
KINDERGARTEN STORYTIME - KINDERGARTEN
Stories, crafts, and fun especially for this age group. Registration begins Tuesday, March 18.
