Culinary Institute and Vanderbilt Mansion Bus Trip

Fee: $82.00 per person
Enjoy a one-hour guided tour and cooking demonstrations before a specially prepared Luncheon in the Ristorante Caterina de Medici. Later, tour the beautiful 19th Century Beau-Arts Mansion that was the Spring and Fall home of Frederick and Louise Vanderbilt, complete with Italian Gardens and spectacular views of the Hudson . Pre-register beginning March 18 at 10:00am . Checks only, payable to the Farmingdale Public Library. No refunds. Preference given to UFSD #22 residents. Poetry Reading

Hear poets David Axelrod and Paula Camacho read from their words. Mr. Axelrod is the current Poet Laureate for Suffolk County . Mr. Axelrod also became Fulbright’s first poet-in-residence in China and Macedonia . He is the author of Deciduous Poems, Random Beauty, and more. Ms. Camacho is the moderator for the Farmingdale Library Poetry Group and the author of Hidden Between Branches, The Short Lives of Giants, and November’s Diary. All are welcome.

 

From Queen Victoria to Jackie O: 109 Years of Adornment

Titanic

On April 12, 1912 the luxury liner the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg and sunk, taking more than 1500 passengers with her. Eco-Photo Explorers will recall the tragic history of this ship and the exciting search for her remains. Hear about the technology used to find the wreck and more. Pre-register beginning May 20. 21st Century Prosecutions
