We are pleased to announce that the Freeport Memorial Library has added Overdrive downloadable audiobooks to our collection.  Downloadable audiobooks are digital versions of popular books that are available to download and listen to on your computer or portable listening device. Some titles can also be burned to CD.

Please note that the majority of the audiobooks in our collection are in Windows Media format (.wma). There is a small selection of MP3 titles available. Any device that is capable of playing either of these formats should work with Overdrive. IPods may now be used with many .wma titles, as well as all .mp3 titles with the latest version of the Overdrive Media Console. (version 3.2).

Once you are finished with a title, you do not have to return the audiobook - simply allow the license to expire and the title will automatically be removed from your account. The expired files will remain on your hard drive until you delete them.
