What is a Friends Group?

A Friends Group promotes public recognition and awareness of a community. They volunteer at special events and develop ideas to enhance the status of the library in the community. Friends work to strengthen library resources and services to better serve patrons.

The Friends of the Franklin Square Public Library began in 1997 to provide support to our community library. Their contributions supplemented government funding, allowing for special services, materials, and equipment which might not have been otherwise possible.

The Franklin Square Public Library is looking for volunteers! If you think you might be interested in joining the Friends Group please call at (516) 488-3444 or e-mail the Director at LPaulo@franklinsquarepl.org.

Thank you!
