CHILDREN’S ROOM CELEBRATION
ART, MAGIC, MUSIC AND FUN
SUNDAY, JUNE 22
A joyous celebration of the newly refurbished Children’s Room at the Glen Cove Public Library was held on Sunday, June 22. The Library also celebrated the installation of six original works of art donated by the award-winning children’s book illustrators, Jean and Mou-Sien Tseng.
The husband-wife illustrator team grew up in Taiwan, and met in art school; in 1984 they emigrated to the US. Their first children’s book was The Seven Chinese Brothers, published in 1990 which was selected as an ALA Notable book. They have since illustrated eighteen more.
The six wonderful pieces donated to the library are original illustrations of various nursery rhymes, and can be seen adorning the walls in the Children’s Room.
Magician Terry Parrett also entertained with his special brand of magic and balloon artistry. A wonderful time was had by all.
