Mission Statement

Libraries were established to provide information to all who inquire. Librarians are dedicated to gathering, organizing and disseminating the world's knowledge. No matter the format, be it print, media, microform or electronic, the Glen Cove Public Library supports freedom of access to the broadest spectrum of ideas. For many users, the library is the last line of defense in the search for truth.
The Glen Cove Public Library is guided by the following American Library Association statements of access to information:

  • The Library Bill of Rights
  • Freedom to Read Statement
  • Freedom to View Statement
  • Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights: Free Access to Libraries for Minors and Access to Electronic Information Services and Resources.
This policy may be revised from time to time.
