SUMMER READING CLUB - METAMORPHOSIS @ YOUR LIBRARY
Join us for a great summer filled with wonderful books, exciting raffles, and sensational programs! Students entering grades 6 and up are welcome to join our YA (Young Adult) Club. Have fun at weekly meetings, read free paperback books, write reviews for our annual Book of Reviews, volunteer to be a Book Buddy, enter the Postcard Contest and meet new and old friends. The YA Club will enjoy a different program and raffle each week. Participation in the raffle is easy: just read a book (or enough pages from it), submit a short review, and fill out a prize raffle entry form. Then attend the Thursday night programs where the winners’ names will be drawn. The first 25 members who read and report on two books will receive a special prize. Registration begins the week of June 30th. Please register for all programs separately either in the Library or online at: yareads@glencovelibrary.org

Book Buddies, a read-to-me program, is looking for young adults, (grades 6 and up) to pair with younger children (grades K – 2) to read together in the Library for a half-hour each week for three weeks this summer. Book Buddies benefits the younger child by having someone to meet with them and share good books, and gives the Young Adult the satisfaction of helping a young child on the road to a successful start in reading. In addition, experience in volunteering in your local library can round out a program of extracurricular activities.

These walking tours in the College and Career Section, are non-promotional DVDs of the student-guided campus tour offered at colleges and universities across the United States. Recordings are by guidance counselors and if an information session was offered along with the tour, it was recorded as well. These are great introductions to the schools you may be considering.
