TODDLER STORY TIME

For 2 year-olds

  •  Tuesdays beginning January 24 through March 7

    10 to 10:30 a.m.    

  •  Wednesdays beginning January 25 through March 8
   10 to 10:30 a.m.

  •  Thursdays beginning January 26 through March 9

    10 to 10:30 a.m.    

Join us for picture books, finger plays and playtime. 
Children must be two years of age by January 10, 2006

PRESCHOOL STORY TIME

For 3 to 5 year-olds

  •  Tuesdays beginning January 24 through March 7

    4 to 4:30 p.m.

  •  Thursdays beginning January 26  through March 9

    4 to 4:30 p.m.

Join us for picture books and reading fun. 
Children must be three years of age by January 10, 2006.

 

Registration for Toddler and Preschool Story Times begins Tuesday, January 10 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.  Please bring proof of birthdate and your Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library card to registration for Toddler and Preschool Story Time.

Karen Beja is a school psychologist and educator with over twenty years experience in Early Childhood, Gifted and Special Education.  Register for one or both sessions.

 

Homework Help Workshop for Parents of Elementary Grade Students

Help your child become more responsible and successful while reducing homework stress.

  •  Thursday, March 9, 7 p.m.

Common homework problems, situations and frustrations will be discussed with ideas and strategies provided to make homework a positive experience. 

 

 

Talking with Your Children about Difficult Issues

Gain confidence in your ability to listen to your child's concerns and provide the answers and support they need.

This workshop will focus on support for parents in assisting their children to cope with family changes, life challenges and other issues.

 

District residents may register beginning Tuesday, February 28 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.  Registration is limited.

 

 



 

JANUARY BOOKMARK CONTEST 

"Change Your World @ Your Library"

 

Create your own bookmark for National Library Week with our separate grades K-2 and 3-5 contests. Pick up your entry blank starting Tuesday,

January 3, 2006 continuing through the month. The contest closes Friday, January 27.

 

The special bookmark you design will help us celebrate National Library Week (April 2-8, 2006).  All entries will be displayed on the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library Home Page during the month of April.  Look under Kids Sites.
