You must reside within the Hicksville School District. When you apply for a library card, two proofs of your name and address are required.
 
The following items are proof of your name and address:
  Driver's license - Learner's permit - Non-driver ID card - Passport
  Property tax statement - Recent utility bill - Rent receipt
  School program (class schedule) - W-2 Income tax form

THE LOCAL HISTORY ROOM

The library's Local History Collection, located in the Elery Bean Wing, consists of printed histories, pamphlets, business invoices, legal documents, government reports and other written sources which divulge the story of Hicksville's past.
 
Many of the books, photographs and other items in the Local History Collection have been generously donated by individuals and organizations. The Library welcomes gifts as a means of preserving our history and making it available to others.

HICKSVILLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

This community organization was founded in 1990 by Hicksville residents and friends. It's purpose is to preserve the memories and incidents of Hicksville's long and colorful history.
 
The society meets the fourth Tuesday of every other month in the Community Room of the Hicksville Public Library at 7:30 P.M.
 
Mr. Richard Althaus is the society's president. Membership is open to the public. For information, please call Irmgrad Tuechler, Vice President or Richard Althaus.
     
Mr. Richard Evers serves as a trustee of the Historical society.

The Library closes at 12:30 P.M. on December 31st.

The Library Board meets the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Hicksville Public Library. All are welcome.
