1.  ASK the Librarian to locate books for you from other libraries. The Library will order books from other libraries for Hillside Library cardholders & call you when requested materials arrive. Please have your library card with you when you request books from other libraries.


2. CHECK out: http://www.alisweb.org. This is an online "Card Catalog" of books in Nassau County libraries.
                     In most cases, the online catalog can help you:
                                                                     a. Find libraries where a particular book is located.
                                                                     b. Check if the book is available for loan.
                                                                     c. Check if the book is on the shelf.
IMPORTANT:  If you choose to travel to another library to pick up a book, be sure to call &

3. VISIT other libraries in Nassau County. Your Hillside Public Library Card is valid to check out books at all Nassau County public libraries.  IMPORTANT:Before traveling to another library, be sure to call to check library hours & lending rules.
