Nassau Library System Senior Connections invites older adults to participate in an interactive summit about the future of public library services as they relate to Long Island’s growing population of people who are 50+.  Presenters Paul Arfin , President of Intergenerational Strategies & Ronald Roel, former editor for Newsday’s Act II section, will lead the discussion of how Nassau’s public libraries can best serve your needs.   Share your ideas & meet others in your community who are committed to the needs of older Long Islanders. The summit is free & open to the public; lunch will be served.

Project Independence
Helps residents remain in their homes after retirement & is offered to anyone age 60 or over that lives in Northern New Hyde Park between Jericho Turnpike & Union Turnpike. Services include healthcare monitoring & screening, connections to benefits & services, home maintenance assistance like lawn mowing & minor repairs, transportation services, counseling, meal preparation & nutrition assistance, as well as social & recreational opportunities.
