Lending Policies

Video & DVD Lending Policies, Late Fees and Standard Fees:

Rental and no-charge videos are due back by closing time of the due date. In the case of a holiday or a day on which the Library is closed, they are due back at closing time the next day the Library is open.

Loan Rules:
• Borrowers must be registered video users of the Locust Valley Library and 13 years of age or older. Borrowers of “R” rated movie videos must be 18 years of age or older.

• Direct Access users over 18 may borrow Library videos upon registration. Videos must be returned to the Locust Valley Library.

• All borrowers are required to sign a registration form agreeing to the stipulations of the video rental policy and to be financially responsible for any videos that are lost or damaged. The Library is not responsible for any damage which might be caused to the borrower’s equipment when using Library videos or DVDs.

• Full retail price will be charged for lost or damaged Video Game, CDs, Videos or DVDs.

• For a lost Museum Pass, the charge is the replacement cost of the pass.
