BILINGUAL STORYTIME

Presented in English and Spanish. This storytime is for those who are interested in exposing their children to the Spanish language. It is also suitable for those children learning English as a second language. Children will hear stories, sing songs and view short videos in both languages. They will also do a simple craft. Program runs for four weeks.

BOOK BUDDIES

Book Buddies will take place on Fridays :November 9, 16, 30 and December 7, 14, 21 ,2007 from 4:30 -5:15 p.m for children Ages 4 - 3rd Grade.

Teens and children become "buddies" by sharing books and a positive library experience. Children get a chance to practice their reading skills and/or be read to, while teens gain volunteer experience, community service credit
and a chance to make a difference in a child's life. All Buddies
(both little and big) receive certificates of participation.

As one "Little Buddy" commented at the end of his first session,
"this is awesome!"

BI-ANNUAL READING CLUBS

Reading Clubs are for Children and Teens who reside in the City of Long Beach School District (Point Lookout, Lido Beach, Long Beach and East Atlantic Beach)

SING AND PLAY OLE

Children and parents alike will enjoy this introductory Spanish class. Through the use of songs, stories, crafts and movement, basic Spanish vocabulary will be presented.
