Baby Sitting Workshop for boys & girls in 6th grade and up.
Wednesday, June 27, 2012 @ 6-8 pm
Signup begins June 4th @ 5:30pm
Learn
the basics of childcare and safety in this informative two session workshop.
Registered nurses Joanne Tanck and Georgette Basso; will speak on aspects of child
development, basic first aid, and the changing and feeding of babies; and a representative
from the Long Beach Fire Department will speak on home safety.
A certificate
will be awarded to those completing both classes.

A program designed
to provide the teens of Long Beach with a venue for community service by becoming
involved with our
Bi-Annual Reading Club for Children.Volunteers*
help children sign up and report on books read. They track all readers and award
prizes and provide the librarians with assistance as needed.
Acceptance into the program and attendance at orientaion is required.

by a teen for teens who want to get involved with their local communities but
do not know where to start. A new non-profit organization, www.teentakecharge.org
is designed to help teenagers on Long Island find community service opportunities
that they can identify with. |

Beach School District now offer real-time, Live Homework Help. Live tutors
are available on-line between the hours of 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., seven days
a week to assist students with Math, Science, Social Studies, and English
composition, in 20-minute sessions. (A simple download is required for first-time

poems should be accompanied with your name, grade, school and home telephone.
The Long Beach Public Library reserves the right to not accept submissions with
incomplete identifying information.
Submissions must not contain profanity
or material that could be offensive to any racial, ethnic or religious group.
The Long Beach Public Library reserves the right to edit spelling and blatant
grammatical errors.
Students
must reside in or attend school in Long Beach in order to submit poetry. Students
must be in grades 6-12. All
work must be original. If
