The book is about two teens who end up making friends with an old man they prank call. The two lead characters Lorranie and John have families that are not the most normal. They end up spending all their free time with him. The book has a mature theme, with issues that teenagers do face.

Twilight

Elizabeth Meyers

Twilight, by Meyers, is an astonishing novel. Even if you do not enjoy books of this genre; vampires and supernatural, Twilight will keep you wanting more. What first seems like a long novel, approximately 500 pages becomes a key into the mind of Isabella, a 17 year-old girl who is entranced by the charming Edward. However, Bella soon discovers a secret about her love: he is a vampire. Trying to live a normal life, Edward struggles with securing Bella's safety, for the dangers of being around a vampire are relevant. Bella finds Edward in her dreams and Edward finds Bella in his mind. Their love is addicting. Follow the love of these two charismatic protagonists as it is tested through conflict and threatened by circumstances. This is truly a must read novel.

TTFN

Lauren Myracle

This book is the sequel to TTYL. In this book however, the girls are in 11th grade when a terrible thing happens to one of them. (They all are alive.) But there are also other things such as an unsuspected romance, and an encounter with the law. This book was spectacular. I recommend it to girls who are 13- 17 years-old. The problems found here can relate to real life.

Eragon

Christopher Paolini

A poor farm boy named Eragon is hunting in the woods when suddenly he hears an explosion! He goes to find out what it was and discovers a mysterious stone. He brings it back with him to see if he can trade it for some food, thinking it would be worth something as a rare stone. It can not be identified by anyone as anything valuable, so he keeps it in his room and soon discovers that this rock isn't an ordinary rock, maybe not a rock at all. This fantasy becomes real as you read it, as the author describes everything with such detail that you feel as though you are watching a movie. This book is definitely worth staying up to read, though I warn you it is a trilogy, so you will be reading these books for a while. The author Christopher Paolini, is yet to finish the third book, but started these books the year he graduated high school at fifteen. He was home schooled and lives in Paradise Valley, Montana. These books are so good they are in the process of making a movie out of Eragon. It will come out December 15, 2007.

New Moon

Stephenie Meyer

It all happened on her birthday. It all went wrong. The life of Isabella Swan continues in Meyer’s second book, this time even more danger pursues her as she tries to live her life in Forks. Edward has decided to leave which causes Bella to fall into a pit of depression. He and his entire family has abandoned her and soon, she takes refuge in Jacob Black, an old friend. However, something has overtaken Jacob and Bella won’t stop until she find out. Yet the danger is great as her journey takes her to old places thought lost as well as places anew. As her life is threatened by an old rival her only hope is that Edward will save her yet he only remains a memory. Her life becomes askew as Alice returns to visit yet it only turns for the worse. A desperate flight to Italy means only one thing. Will she be able to save him? Or will Edward fall into the blackened pits of death? The story comes to a close that leaves readers grasping for more as Stephenie Meyer finishes off with an ending that will certainly bring about a third title to her series.

Twilight

Stephanie Meyer

Isabella swan moves to the town of Forks, a town she has decided to hate. She hated the weather, she hated the school. She hated it all; except for him; Edward Cullen. Bella’s life was normal until he introduced himself and after that, it was all downhill. Edward must decide whether or not to tell Bella the truth about himself and his family. The closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself at risk. However, she is determined to find out about his dark secret even if it means death itself. Yet Edward won’t allow anything to happen to her no matter what he has to do leading up to the moment when she finds out the truth. Edward mostly believes he’s a monster, dangerous, a predator. Although Bella seems to have her own ideas about him. The more and more Edward reveals to Bella, the more and more he begins to love her and Bella love him. Even though he is fighting the demons inside him all the while, Edward refuses to become a threat to her. Yet in the end, will it be Edward’s nature that saves her, or will it be what kills her? Meyer’s epic tale of fantasy, love and danger is a thrilling ride that you never want to end.

The Hobbit

J.R.R. Tolkein

Although I don’t like fantasy, The Hobbit was a refreshing epic tale including trolls, goblins, and evil wolves. As Bilbo’s quest unfolds we realize that he is changing, gaining more confidence and bravery. By the end Bilbo is not the simple, conservative, Hobbit he was in the past. The Hobbit is not only an entertaining tale, but a lesson of the influence of danger and obstacles. I give The Hobbit a thumb’s up.

This book is a great story about a group of boys who aren't appreciated because of where they live. I have read this book many times and it never gets old!! I love it because people can connect with the characters, and there is a lot of action.
