Services and PoliciesOur MissionThe mission of the Mineola Memorial Library is to provide outstanding service in order to fulfill the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the residents of Mineola. Library CardsA Mineola Library card is free of charge to individuals over the age of 4 who live or own property in the Village of Mineola. Your library card is valid for 3 years. For children and young adults under the age of 18, a parent must accompany the child and sign the application at the time of registration. Parents are responsible for all materials their children borrow. As you are responsible for all materials checked out on your card, we strongly recommend that you notify the library immediately should your card be lost or stolen. Lost cards may be replaced at the Circulation Desk for a fee of $3. Identification will be needed to verify identity and residency. We are part of the Nassau Library System (NLS). As a resident of Mineola, your library card entitles you to receive borrowing privileges here, at other NLS Libraries through Direct Access, and nationwide through the Interlibrary Loan program. Our librarians can advise you on the best way to obtain your information and material needs.
