The Mineola Library will be a drop off location for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's "Toys for Tots" campaign, a program to collect toys and distribute to needy children in the community during the holiday season. From November 2 - December 19, you may drop off a new and unwrapped toy in a "Toys for Tots" box located at the Circulation Desk or in the Children's Room.

Also, the Mineola Library will be a drop off spot for knitting yarn to be used by the charity "We Care Blankets." Their project is to knit blankets for children undergoing chemotherapy. They supply colorful blankets to 23 oncology units on Long Island. The drop off box will be in the Children's Room.

Please donate toys or spare some yarn for needy children at the Mineola Library!

Tweens and teens in grades 5-12 are invited to the grand opening party of the Mineola Library's new Tween/Teen Room, which will be available in our Community Room after school, from 3-5pm, for doing homework, reading, Wii gaming, watching movies, and listening to CDs! Looking for ways to keep your child safe? New York Life will be offering a free child ID program in our Mineola Library Community Room that provides parents with child identification materials they may need in an emergency.
