CALENDAR OF EVENTS
 

The Long Island Children's Museum visits the North Bellmore Public Library for three special events:
"Celebrate" Program
Friday July 11  1:00-2:00PM
Learn how people around the world take part in birthday celebrations.  Children can create festive hats, play party games, and sing songs as they explore international birthday customs.

Bug Bites
Tuesday July 15  2:00-3:00PM
Become a junior entomologist and learn about the amazing lives and natural history of bugs, insects, and spiders. Use what you learn about bug anatomy and habits to create your own imaginary bug.
These programs are for children in Grades K-3 and registration for both programs will begin on Tuesday July 1.

Bubbles
 Thursday August 7 2:00-3:00PM
Play with bubbles at interactive stations.  Make bubble wands, bubble prints and bubble shapes. Become a bubble scientist! Registration Friday August 1 Ages 3-11.
 

Summer Reading Club 2008 News!
Catch the Reading Bug!
There is still time to join. Those who complete the club will be invited to attend the closing show "Magic Beyond Imagination" on Thursday August 21 at 3:00PM.
There will be three raffles throughout the summer and a grand prize raffle at the show.

Summer Tales W. Mr. B

World of Bugs
Tuesday July 8    3:00-4:00PM
Interactive show brought to you by Eric's Reptile Adventures.  Tickets will be available beginning Tuesday July 1.  Ages 6 and up

Summer Drop - In Story Times
Children will enjoy stories, songs, finger plays, and a simple craft.
Ages 3-6 will be held on Wednesdays July 9, 16, 23, 30 August 6, 13 from 1:30-2:15PM.  Children should be able to attend comfortably alone.  Parents/caregivers are required to remain in the Children's Room while the sessions are in progress.
Toddler Ages 24-35 months (with Parent/Caregiver) will be held on Thursdays July 10, 17, 24, 31 from 10:00-10:30AM.

Please note:  No registration is required for either of these programs but PLEASE adhere to the age limits.

Drop - In Pajama Story Time
Monday July 21 and Monday August 18   7:00-7:30PM
Children ages 3-6 are invited to listen to a story before bedtime.  Children may wear their PJ's if they wish.

Movie Time at the Library
Spiderwick Chronicles Sunday July 13  2:00PM
Beat the heat--Come watch a movie!  Tickets not required.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No Snacks Please.  Rated PG.  Running Time 107 minutes.

Origami Fun
Thursday July 24   3:30-4:30PM
Come learn the ancient art of paper folding.  Children in grades 3-6 can have fun making "buggy" origami creations.  Registration Date Thursday July 17.

Let's Get Buggy
Thursday July 31 2:00-3:00PM
Children ages 3-5 along with their Parent/Caregiver can have a fun filled afternoon with Tots-At-Night's Donna Green.  Registration Wednesday July 23.

Butterfly Guy
Friday August 1 2:00-3:00PM
Come join Steve Fratello, the "Butterfly Guy" for an interactive show exploring the world of butterflies.  This family program is for children in grades 1-6.  Tickets will be available Monday July 21.

Activity Hour
Tuesday August 12 10:00-11:00AM Children ages 2-5, with parent/caregiver, may attend a morning of free play, craft, stories, and songs. Registration begins Tuesday, August 5th.

 

Children in Grades 3 and up are invited to join Lisa, "The Baking Coach" to create edible bugs!  The two programs are:
Did You Ever Eat a Bug?
Tuesday July 29 4:15-5:15PM
How can bugs be tasty? Children in can create them using icing and put them on a jumbo cookie. Registration Date Tuesday July 15.

Chocolate Covered Worms
Wednesday August 6 4:15-5:15PM
Children can create juicy and succulent "worms" that no one can resist!  Registration date Tuesday July 29.

Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds
Tuesday August 19   5:00PM
Come see everybody's favorite rock star, Hannah Montana in her just released movie on DVD!   Tickets will be available starting Tuesday August 6.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No snacks please. Rated G.  Running time 74 minutes.

Let’s Get Ready for School
Monday, August 25  10:00-11:00AM
Children ages 3-5 who are starting school in September are welcome to get ready for the big day with Donna Green from Tots-At-Night.  Registration is limited and begins Wednesday August 13.

Children 18-29 months with parent caregiver may attend this program of free play, songs, stories, and a craft.  Limited registration begins Thursday,  August 28.  Proof of child's age is required at registration.
