SUMMER READING CLUB NEWS FLASH!
BE CREATIVE @ YOUR LIBRARY

REGISTRATION FOR THE SUMMER READING CLUB
BEGINS ON JUNE 24, 2009

It’s time again for summer reading!  Children ages 3 years old to Grade 6 are welcome to register, read and record their books.
We will have raffles, prizes and a party to celebrate all our readers.

This year, for the first time, we will hold a friendly
 SUMMER READING TROPHY CONTEST.
This event is a reading marathon among the six elementary schools in our district.

HOW TO WIN!
The North Bellmore Elementary School with the highest number of registered students
who complete the requirements of the Summer Reading Club will win!

• Children in grades K-2 must read at least six (5) books
during the eight (8) weeks of the program
• Children in grades 3-6 must read at least three (3) books
during the eight (8) weeks of the program
In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by which school had
the highest number of students
reading six (6) or more books.

The winning elementary school will be awarded the Summer Reading Club Trophy
for the school year and
will also receive a donation of new books for their school library!

Readers can keep track of their school’s progress on the special
SUMMER READING TROPHY CONTEST DISPLAY
set up in the Children’s Room of the library.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY READING!
