Need a Sonnet? I'm On It! (October 13)
Marsha Howard, librarian at Poets House, will discuss how to develop a poetry collection, including which poets’ works are “must-haves” and who the new popular poets are. She will also talk about the different types of programming to create excitement about the genre.

Up Roots: Tracing Your Family Tree (May 5)
This year's Long Island Library Conference offering features speakers
from the Genealogy Federation of Long Island speaking on basic
research techniques for specific ethnic and cultural groups.
Improving
Your Memory in 3 Days (June 9)
Fred Chernow, author of The Sharper Mind, teaches his audience
mental strategies and tricks to memorize names, facts and dates.

Annual Breakfast with Author/Guest Speaker (October 6)
Our guest speaker at the annual breakfast held this year at the
Maine Maid Inn in Jericho, was author Barbara Rogan who spoke
about her experiences as a literary agent, novelist and teacher
of writing.
Review
Journal Revue: A Panel Discussion (November 10)
Editors from Booklist, Kirkus Reviews, Library Journal and Publisher's
Weekly discussed the similarities and differences in the materials
they select and review for their journals during this program,
held at the Port Washington Public Library.

Edgar Allen Poe.
The Well
Rounded Electronic Reference Department (November 12)
The program will be a roundtable discussion led by Robyn Klose
