YASD Vice-President Ed Goldberg of Syosset Public Library presented this year's BEST Award to Natahalie Souffrant, a 16 yr. old from the Uniondale Public Library. Natahalie was nominated by YA Librarian Syntychia Kendrick-Samuel for her dedicated work in the Junior Friends group over the past 5 years. Natahalie has accumulated over 130 volunteer hours working as a summer reading club helper, performing at the library's annual Black History Program, and representing the library at the Teen Summit which trains teen leaders. Natahalie is now involved in planning the Junior Friends Talent Show. Congratulations to Natahalie for her commitment and accomplishments at the Uniondale Public Library and to the Suffolk. Also we commend the other BEST nominees for their contributions to libraries in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
