WELCOME to the
Friends of the Sea Cliff Village Library Page!

Friends

Friends of Sea Cliff Library is a group of volunteers whose mission is to increase awareness and expand the use of Sea Cliff’s adult and children’s libraries.

We support improvements and enhancements in services and resources, raise funds to meet library needs, and encourage cultural and educational activities.

A Call For Friends . .
Readers welcome!

Valentine’s Day is a time of love and sharing.  In keeping with the spirit of the holiday, Friends of the Sea Cliff library is providing a delightful way to share wine and cheese with your friends and loved ones and express your love for the Sea Cliff Library.  Karen & Scott Kessler are opening up their house on Saturday, February 5 at 6 PM for a wine and cheese get-together.  The price is $25 a person.  Checks for the event should be made out to the Friends of the Sea Cliff Library and mailed to P.O. Box 333, Sea Cliff, NY 11579

New  & Exciting Friends’ Project:
A children's garden, behind the Children's Library, is being created.  It will be a safe, magical place for children to continue learning, observing, and discovering while interacting with nature.  It will encourage everyday learning, in our Sea Cliff children, about themselves and their place in the world. The objective of developing the Children's Garden is to inspire happy memories and develop a life-long appreciation and interest in plants and gardens.

Help us create the Sea Cliff Children's Garden!  Help imagination run free and creativity blossom!  Send donations to: Friends of the Sea Cliff Library at PO Box 333.   If you would like to volunteer, please contact Andrea Stoff at (516) 759-9592.

Friends Annual Events
National Friends of the Libraries Week,  held on October 17-24, 2010 was fun and successful.  The bake sale raised close to $100 for the Library.

Annual Friends Membership drive has brought us dozens of new friends.   Equally important it raised close to a $1000 for the Library.   Some of that money will be used to develop the Children’s Library Garden into a beautiful fun site.   as well as to purchase Museum Passes for the library and other items.  It is not too late to join the Friends and give a donation to help the library. ..

Look for these Events in
2011

Poetry night will be scheduled in the spring.  You might want to start earmarking a poem to read at that delightful Library event co-sponsored by the Library and the Friends.

“Giant Gently Used Book Sale” will be repeated June 2011 on Sea Cliff  Garage Sale day.  Due to storage concerns Books for the sale will be collected two weeks prior to the sale.  You can start saving books now for the June 2011 book drop off period.

Book plates given to acknowledge friends, family and important events is one of our new fundraising projects.  More information will be available in the near future.

Postcards for sale are another new project to help raise funds for the library.  Buy a few to send to you friends.  They are on the counter at the Adult Library,
