The Senior Connections Volunteer
A meaningful volunteer experience

You Can Help!
If you would like to become a Senior Connections volunteer, please call Senior Connections (516) 292-8920 x235 on Thursdays to apply. You will join a program that will prepare you to become a well-informed senior service representative. You will be able to help yourself, your neighbors and others.

Making a difference in the lives of other people and thereby enhancing one's own life, a SENIOR CONNECTIONS volunteer provides referral to the community's human services right from local libraries. Volunteers help their neighbors and peers by offering warmth, information, and friendly counsel in a comfortable, non-threatening setting. Guided by the library's vast information base, and their own senior resource files, they can be seen in many Long Island libraries answering questions and explaining entitlements and community services. Senior Connections volunteers are involved in reaching out to library patrons, neighbors in the community, and to isolated elderly neighbors
