Defensive Driving Courses

AARP “55 ALIVE” COURSE

AARP sponsored “55 Alive” defensive driving courses are open to Shelter Rock Library District residents. Attendees will be entitled to a discount on their auto insurance premium for a period of 3 years and a reduction of negative points from their driving record. Class sizes are limited and registration is for Shelter Rock cardholders only.

In-person registration begins on Wednesday, June 18 at 2:00 pm, and continues until all classes are filled. Shelter Rock patrons must bring their individual valid Shelter Rock Library card, their NYS driver's license and an undated check or money order for $10.00 made out to AARP. Please no cash. Since class sizes are limited, please be prepared with alternate dates. Registration is for the following 4 classes:

Class 1: Sat., July 12 from 9:30 am–4:30 pm
Class 2: Mon., July 14 & Thur., July 17 from 6:30 pm–10:00 pm
Class 3: Sat., Aug. 9 from 9:30 am–4:30 pm
Class 4: Tues., Aug. 12 & Thurs., Aug. 14 from 6:30 pm–10:00 pm

Coffee and tea will be available.
Saturday classes will break for a half-hour lunch.

EMPIRE SAFETY COUNCIL COURSE
For Drivers Of All Ages

An Empire Safety Council approved defensive driving course will be offered this summer at Shelter Rock Public Library. This six-hour course is open to all ages and will be given from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Mon., July 28 and Tues., July 29. YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH EVENINGS. The course fee is $35. This course is for SHELTER ROCK LIBRARY DISTRICT RESIDENTS ONLY. A limited number of seats are still available for this course. Please bring payment (checks only, made out to Stephen Donnelly,) your non-expired Shelter Rock Library card and NYS Driverʼs license to the Reference Desk.
