The Long Island Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra
Hear a unique concert of “International Music” conducted by Antonina Nigrelli. The orchestra is comprised of mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, a mando basso, and guitars. “LIMAGO” began in the 1950ʼs as an adult education class sponsored by the Levittown School District in Nassau County. It has since evolved into a not-for-profit organization with its mission to preserve the music of the mandolin, to increase awareness of the history and potential of the mandolin, and to provide an educational as well as enjoyable listening experience. LIMAGO performs a varied repertoire consisting of many types of music: international folk, ethnic, light classics, classical, and popular.
