Library Card

How do I get a library card?

All residents of the Syosset Central School District are entitled to Syosset Public Library cards.

Please present two proofs of residency.
One proof must be a photo ID, such as: Driver's license or non-driver ID, Syosset-Woodbury
Community Park Pass, Medicare card, etc.
The second proof can be a utility bill, property tax bill, voter registration card, lease, auto registration, printed check, etc.

Library cards are either red (ages 0 to 12) or green (age 12 and over).

Children must have the signature of a parent or guardian, accepting responsibility for library materials. The red children's card is valid for all Syosset Public Library materials except adult fiction and "R" rated videos.

Library cards are valid for three years and may be renewed by presenting continued proof of residency.

Non-Residents Who Live in Nassau County:If you work or attend private school within the Syosset Central School
District you may have a one year renewable library card. Non-resident cards are valid for all library holdings with the exception of AV items less than one year old. This card is not valid for reserves or interloans.

Non-Residents Who Live Outside of Nassau County:You may purchase a full-service non-resident card for a fee of $270 annually.
