LVA-NC helps people read, write, and speak English. They recruit and train volunteer tutors, assess students, and match students with tutors.

Morning and afternoon classes (M-F). Evening Classes (Monday & Wednesday, Tuesday & Thursday) Classes are free to adults over 21 years of age without a US high school diploma or GED.

Courses are offered through the College's Continuing Education Program which has been specially designed to help those who plan on attending college to improve overall language proficiency in English. New students should make an appointment to take the English Language Institute Placement Test by calling 516-572-7236 or e-mail: lincc@ncc.edu. Or you can do it in person at the ELI office located in Cluster F, room 309.
