The SeniorNet Program, and educational course that teaches computer skills to residents age 50 and older, is being offered. Classes are administered by the Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC). SeniorNet provides ongoing computer classes on a variety of topics, including basic computer knowledge, word processing and use of the Internet. Students pay a nominal fee for course materials. The collection contains over 100,000 recorded books, the same type of books you would find at your public library, including mysteries, romances, biographies, best-sellers and over 30 recorded magazines. The recorded books and equipment needed to listen to them are mailed directly to your home via postage free mail. Applications for this free library service are available at public libraries across Long Island or by contacting LITBL by phone or e-mail. It is part of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, a division of the Library of congress.
