The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library sponsored two successful Children's Summer Reading Clubs this year. Over 230 children finished and received reading achievement certificates. Twenty programs were held and over 400 children participated in the progams. On August 17, 2005, Patricia Shih entertained over 250 children and adults at the End-of-the-Summer Celebration on the Village Green Bandshell. Children were encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to contribute to the Holy Name of Mary Outreach Food Kitchen and become a "Caring Kid." Over 135 items were contributed by the children.
