Valley Stream is joining with other libraries in Nassau County to start a letterboxing program. Letterboxing is a mix of treasure hunting, navigation, and exploring.

Each participating library in Nassau County has hidden a box somewhere on the grounds of their library. You'll need a stamp (and ink pad) and a pad or journal to record the letterboxes you find. On the web, go to

www.nassaulibrary.org/letterboxing

to find the clues for each library. Figure out the clue and find the letterbox. Once you've found a letterbox you stamp their pad with your stamp and then your pad with their stamp. It's as easy as that.

Follow the clue to find our letterbox!

Go to the Children's Room. There are 6 non-fiction stacks and each have a bulletin board on the end of them.

Count and write down the number of bugs on each of the first 5 bulletin boards starting with the bees on the bulletin board closest to the windows.

On the last bulletin board, count the number of bugs and multiply by five. You should now have seven numbers.

Locate this call number in the Adult Room and find the book that does not belong in that section.
