Valley Stream is joining with other libraries in Nassau County to start a letterboxing program. Letterboxing is a mix of treasure hunting, navigation, and exploring. Each participating library in Nassau County has hidden a box somewhere on the grounds of their library. You'll need a stamp (and ink pad) and a pad or journal to record the letterboxes you find. On the web, go to
www.nassaulibrary.org/letterboxing
to find the clues for each library. Figure out the clue and find the letterbox. Once you've found a letterbox you stamp their pad with your stamp and then your pad with their stamp. It's as easy as that.
