The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library subscribes to several online resources that can help with general research or homework assignments. In some cases, you will be asked to enter your library card barcode number which is located on the reverse side of your library card. In other cases, you will be asked to enter a password, which may be obtained at the Adult Reference Desk upon presentation of your library card. In addition, specific online and internet resources can be accessed by topic as listed to the left.

Gale Virtual Reference Library: Datebase features a wide variety of eBook reference titles from Thomson Gale, including History of the American Cinema and VideoHound's Golden Movie Retriever.
NOTE: You will be asked to enter the barcode number on your Henry Waldinger Memorial Library library card for access to the database.

 

Blue ArrowDatabases
The Classic TV Database provides quick snapshots of mostly older shows. Each entry consists of a brief summary, a cast list, and a broadcast history.
TV Tome includes guides to individual shows, including general show information such as show introductions, broadcast histories, show formats, lists of actors, creators, and crew, news updates, DVD releases, episode lists, episode guides, reviews, etc.

Playbill.com includes theater news;show listings for Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional and tours; ticket information; casting calls; etc.

Internet Movie Database is the best movie reference site on the web, covering more than 200,000 movies and TV shows, with bios, filmographies, birth names, gaffes, and trivia about more than 400,000 actors.

Food Network website can be searched by show, time period, even by cuisine or main ingredient. This thorough, well-organized site boasts a database of more than 13,000 recipes.

The Knot will help you set up a wedding budget, view gowns online, book a honeymoon, buy a ring, etc.

Ticketmaster is the world's leading ticketing company, providing ticket sales and distribution through www.ticketmaster.com , one of the largest e-commerce sites on the Internet; approximately 3,300 retail Ticket Center outlets; 19 worldwide telephone call centers; and a broad online and offline marketing network.

Hallmark provides a variety of e-cards for you to send to friends, family, etc.

Entertainment Weekly's EW.com is the leading daily website about pop culture, presenting the Web's best daily news, reviews, commentary, and interactive features about every aspect of entertainment.

Cool Quiz! is the largest trivia site on the internet from Cool Quiz Network, Inc., a privately owned business. It provides quizzes, games, surveys, recreational information and related products to a prime demographic group of people aged 13-65 years.
