In 2010, the library presented "Empowering Women and Girls for Success," a series of workshops that were geared to give women and girls an edge in the competitive job market and in these tough financial times. The workshops were funded by the Long Island Fund for Women & Girls.

Presentation by Brittany MacLeod and her mother Terri, Co-Authors of "113 Things to Do by 13." Authors talked about their book, their research, and offered tweens and parents advice on developing a healthy self-esteem and a "can-do" attitude.
