Consulta provides a comprehensive collection of Spanish-language materials, including award-winning reference materials from Gale and Oceano, a wide range of journals, plus essential primary source documents. This database is from the Gale Group and is being made available by the Nassau Library System Co-Central Libraries through the end of 2003.

Custom Newspapers Logo/Link
Custom Newspapers is a Gale Group database that contains 150 full-text newspapers, including the latest 365 days of the New York Times, plus indexes and abstracts for the Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post; plus Wall Street Journal abstracts. (Unfortunately, it does not include Newsday.) It is offered to patrons through NOVEL, the New York State Statewide Database Project.

EBSCOhost WEB : MasterFILE Select provides full text for over 780 periodicals covering nearly all subjects including general reference, business, health, and much more.

Informe Logo/Link
Informe!  is the first electronic database in Spanish, specifically designed to meet the research needs of Spanish-speaking users, with full-text articles from the most popular Spanish-language and bilingual periodicals. This database is from the Gale Group and is being offered to patrons through NOVEL, the New York State Statewide Database Project.

Infotrac Logo/Link
Use Infotrac Searchbank  to search magazines, newspapers (NY Times daily updates), and reference books for information on business, health, industry, current events, the arts, science, entertainment, etc. The Infotrac's Health Resource Center is a database of articles on health topics such as fitness, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, HMOs, prescription drugs, etc.  It is being offered to patrons through NOVEL, the New York State Statewide Database Project.

National Newspaper Index Logo/Link
National Newspaper Index is a Gale Group database that provides indexing of America's top five newspapers: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post, covering 1977 to the present. It is offered to patrons through NOVEL, the New York State Statewide Database Project.

New York State Newspapers is a Gale Group database that includes ten newspapers as follows: Buffalo News (Buffalo, NY), Herald American (Syracuse, NY), Herald-Journal (Syracuse, NY), Journal News (Westchester, NY), New York Observer (New York, NY), New York Post (New York, NY), New York Times (New York, NY), Post-Standard (Syracuse, NY), Press & Sun-Bulletin (Binghamton, NY), and Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, NY). (Unfortunately, it does not include Newsday.) It is offered to patrons through NOVEL, the New York State Statewide Database Project.

netLibrary Logo/Link
netLibrary  is the most comprehensive collection of online books (eBooks) and resource materials available.  It gives access to a wide range of scholarly and reference materials, and you can search every word in the entire collection and within particular eBooks.

refdesk.com advertises itself as "the single best source for facts on the Net."  It was named the  "Best Reference Site for 2001" by Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine. refdesk.com indexes quality Internet sites and helps users navigate these sites.
