New
York State Learning Standards have been revised to help children
develop their problem-solving abilities so that they can become more independent
thinkers. Minimum standards have been raised for all students so they will
be better equipped to use compete successfully in today's increasingly
complex, demanding world.
There are two types of learning standards -- CONTENT STANDARDS: What children should know, understand, and be able to do as a result of their schooling, and PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Acceptable levels of student achievement. |
