Valley Stream Society Valley Stream, L.I. March 5 - It was a merry party that assembled at the home of Judge Wheeler last evening, the occasion being the March meeting of the Valley Stream Literary Society. The heavy drifts of snow made traveling almost impossible, but with bells and a good deal of laughter and over turning of cutters, the party at last arrived, and were heartily welcomed by the host and hostess. The annual election of officers took place and new members were added to the roll. It was decided to give the friends of the society a reception Tuesday evening, April 17, at the hope of Mrs. B.P. McLean, when the tenth anniversity will be celebrated. A history of the society and an original poem will be read by members and a musical treat is in store. A dramatic entertainment will also be given at the Criterion theater, Brooklyn, during the last of April. The Officers elected were: President Andrew F. Wilson; vice president, Mrs. B.P. McLean; secretary, Miss Cora B. Drewry; treasurer, Miss Hattie E. Miller. Brooklyn Eagle, March 5, 1896
