The Nassau Library System (NLS) uses third-party vendors to provide digital collections, streaming media content and more. Some of these vendors may collect and share the information you provide to them in order to use their services.
The types of information that could be collected by the vendors includes:
Information submitted when you register, provide feedback and suggestions, request information, or create shared content.
Internet Address (IP Address), search history, location-based data, and device information.
Non-personally identifiable information, such as your ad views, analytics, browser information, cookie data, date/time of your request, demographic data, hardware/software type, interaction data, serving domains, page views, and the web page you visited immediately prior to visiting the site.
Other data as described in the vendor’s privacy policy and terms of use.
Once a year, we audit our vendors’ data & privacy policies. For convenience, these are available here, but please note that policies are subject to change and third-party vendors should be contacted for their most current policy.
NLS also uses an “Integrated Library System” (ILS) in order to digitally manage our collections and patron checkouts. Use of this system is not optional for library patrons. The privacy policy of the vendor that supplies our Integrated Library System can be found here. The NLS Privacy Policy for ILS Usage covers what data is collected by the ILS and how NLS uses it.
